When a client mentions high-availabilty, the first thing I think of is Load-Balancing. Load balancers, like golf clubs, come in different sizes and price ranges. You could go out and buy a couple of load-balancers and manage them yourself or you can have us manage them for you. Peer-1’s Load Balancing platform utilizes a pair of Foundry Server Irons in Active/Active mode for redundancy. Basically your servers all will appear as a single server (virtual server) that shares a single IP Address (virtual IP or VIP). Requests come in on the VIP, which you can assign to any domain name, just like a real IP. The Load Balancer distributes the request amongst the servers. Unlike clustering, Load Balancing does not include any cooperation or content sharing between the load balanced servers.
